A 'Sweater Set'
Sweater: Forever 21 // Skirt: Forever 21 // Top Coat: Thrifted (Similar) // Boots: Michael Kors (Similar) // Clutch: Clare V. // Watch: Olivia Burton // Sunglasses: Forever 21 // Bracelets: J Crew // Rings: Forever 21
So maybe this sweater set isn't the short-sleeved turtleneck and matching cardi our preppy fore-mothers would have worn, but both pieces are in fact 'sweaters', and they're definitely a 'set': SO IT COUNTS!
This isn't the first time I've done a co-ord. You've seen me wear one HERE, HERE, and HERE. Why do I love the look so much? A co-ord has the 'one-and-done-ness of a dress, while maintaining the versatility of being separates. The look is easily broken apart to make at least four other outfits (off the top of my head). How about the sweater with a smart high-waisted black pant? Or over a swing dress with tall boots? How about the skirt with a silk blouse and basic pumps? Or with a slouchy sweater in a contrasting color?
Yes, the concept of a co-ord is trendy and bound to go out of style one of these days. But if you choose your matching pieces carefully, each piece can live on as a separate in your carefully curated wardrobe. Can't wait!
