Vintage Poncho and Skinny Black Jeans
Found me a poncho at my local thrift store this week, I did, I did. I've been considering buying a new one this entire season but haven't found one that I liked enough to justify the price - and then I found this guy. This baby is 100% wool, so thick, and so warm, and has some really cool details like the tab collar, patch pockets, and few scattered tortoise shell buttons. I'm from the seventies, man - is it any wonder I love the volume of a fabulous poncho?!

For a modernist like me, wearing vintage can sometimes feel a costume-y. One trick to making relics feel modern is to pair the piece with a skinny black pant. Boom, done. I had this 'skinny black-pant realization' a while ago and it's prompted me to increase my collection of trim black trousers. My latest addition to my collection are these high-waisted ripped-knee jeans from Asos. They're super tight, super stretchy, and super comfortable.
It's not everyday I find an editorial worthy vintage piece at my thrift store. It takes a lot of hunting and digging without reward before finally stumbling upon on a rare find like this. But I don't care. I love to dig. It quiets my mind and soothes my soul.
Wait till I show you the buffalo check jacket I found on the same day...
