Visit my closet and you'll notice peg after peg of gaudy neck armor. I love a loud statement piece - is there any easier way to be instantly 'dressed' than to clasp on a fabulous piece of wearable art? My collection of baubles has centered around necklaces for more than a few seasons, but they're not feeling as fresh as they once did. Lately, I find myself obsessed with chandelier sized (nearly) door-knocker earrings.
Heavy? Yes. Fabulous? Absolutely. Difficult to style? Never! just keep a few things in mind to make the most of your ear candy.
- Don't even think about adding a necklace - not a matching one, not a power clashing one, not even a teeny tiny one.
- For a daytime appropriate look pair statement earrings with classic casuals like jeans and a sweater or tailored staples like a crisp white shirt and trousers.
- Give your door knockers the canvas they deserve by keeping the rest of your outfit (or at least what's on top) neutral, minimal, and ideally monochromatic.
- Keep hair and makeup simple and fresh to avoid looking overdone. Black eye liner, lip stain, and a tidy bun are a chic way to let statement earrings shine.
