Thrift Sto' From Head to Toe, Day 3
DENIM JACKETS are another thing I always look for in a thrift store. I seriously own no less than twelve and I wear them all! Each season I feel like the shape and color of the jacket du jour shifts ever so slightly. Last season it was cropped and tight, now it's a little looser and longer. Once dark indigo felt right, now it's all about the super faded and true blue. This no name style I'm wearing happened to feel perfect when I found it last week. I may not be into it next year, but I'll definitely get my $7 out of it this season.
And again with the BAGS and SHOES! Red suede pumps and a red leather satchel (both found on Ebay) make my menswear pants and shirt feel more expensive and pulled together. And I'm loving these Quay Iris Mirrored sunglasses!
THRIFT STORE PIECES: Pink J Crew Button Down Shirt, (No Name) Denim Jacket, Men's Trousers
EBAY PIECES: J Crew Biennial Satchel, Red Suede Schutz Pumps, Quay Iris Mirrored Sunglasses
Do you ever stop and really look at what you're wearing? Do you ever add up how much your outfit cost? Where all of it came from? Is it all new? Is it all old? This dressing challenge opened my eyes to how diverse my collection really is and how much I enjoy mixing it up. Being constrained to one brand/store/outlet for clothing felt so limiting! My husband and I joke that even if became a bajillionaire, I'd still shop in thrift stores. I need a little low-high to go with the high-low. It just feels right. Right?
