When local PR guru Kathryn Elise Snellen approached me about attending a Hall's event to launch Sachin and Babi's latest line I barely hesitated before saying 'YES'! When she told me I'd be given a piece of clothing to wear to the event, I was absolutely ecstatic. (I blacked-out from the excitement when the dress actually showed up no less than a day later.) What better way to celebrate the final days of summer than by flitting around in this gorgeous goddess dress?!
Steeped in a meticulous attention to the embroidery and embelishment, I tend to think of Sachin and Babi as makers of 'special event' pieces. The duo have a brilliant knack for creating sculptural statement skirts and dresses you'd be inclined to wear to fashion shows, swanky weddings, or any event where your ex is likely to be. What I like best about the designs are their ability to inhabit opposing aesthetics simultaneously. The pieces are at once simple and ornate, classic and edgy, colorful and strict.
