Mele Kalikimaka - Vintage Hawaii, Part I
December 25th may be nowhere in sight, but by golly, it felt like Christmas when I found this little gem of a waistcoat at a Goodwill for only $3! I actually gasped when I saw it on the rack. (Read the 'thrift-story' behind this piece HERE!)
Aside from the amazing graphics and colors of the print, this piece was hand-made in Hawaii during the 60s using a lineny cotton blend. (No polyester! Yeah!) Though the vest on its own is a total throwback, I think it plays nicely with the modern pieces in the rest of this outfit making the overall equation very 'now'.
God, I love it when I get out of the house in mixed prints and mixed decades.
