It's really odd for me to splurge on a top. I like my money on my feet or hanging from a single shoulder. Peruse my outfits posts and you'll find I typically wear simple t-shirts and button-downs, and yet here I stand in the very spendy Free People Riptide Tunic. I absolutely love the way it looks, but to justify the cost of the shirt I had to really consider the ways I can wear it now and might wear it later.

Made from a super smooth two-ply cotton gauze, it's substantial, but also airy and light. (ie... feels AMAZING on my skin.) This feature alone makes it a great contender for year round wear, which starts to justify the cost. Keep the tassel ties closed and it's a bonafide shirt. Open 'em up and it's a bikini cover-up. Tucked in to shorts; it's BBQ friendly. Worn under a jacket; we're tailgating in the fall. I plan to wear it for a while as a 'nice' blouse and when the luster fades it'll become that 'thing' I throw in my beach bag. And after it survives the sweat, spills, and snags I might even start sleeping in it because it's that comfortable!

So that's ma' new shirt. It cost me a pretty penny, but I'm certain I'll get my money's worth. (At least that's what I told my husband.) But it's absolutely true! HAPPY FRIDAY!
