Whites and Stripes - Simple Summer Style

White pants and a stripe t-shirt always makes me feel a bit like I'm boarding a cruise ship in the Seventies. Though I'm missing feathered Farrah hair and blue eyeshadow, can't you see me with a frozen cocktail in one hand as I'm waving goodbye with the other? Fantasy time-travel not-withstanding, it turns out floor grazing white bell bottom pants (from Zara, of course) turn out to be perfect way to take the old and make it new again.
Helping to make the old new again are my geometric centered accessories. Notice how the circles and squares of my necklace play off the same geometries of my sunglasses and complement the stripes of my tank. Although these peiece have nods to other eras, they feel 'right now' and help to bring Seventies edge into the New Millenium.
On a day when shorts or a sundress weren't an option, this outfit got me through multiple meetings in nearly 100 degree weather with almost as much humidity. Boarding a cruise ship or navigating the concrete jungle? Either way, this outfit makes great simple summer style!
