One of the best features of my new home is its proximity to Shawnee Mission Park; an ENORMOUS reserve of open space, trails, camp sites, and a huge lake system complete with a swimming beach and boat slips. Since the weather has been so nice I finally got out there the other day and took these lake side photos.
Something about spring and being near the water makes me want to get all decked out in white jeans. So nautical, right?! My latest favorite pair of springy whites happens to be these cropped wide legs with a slight high-rise from J Crew. A few women had stopped to comment on their cuteness but then lamented they could 'never wear such a style' and while I understand the hesitation (becasue I had it myself), I've realized a couple tricks to making them shine.
- Definitely find a pair that's cropped enough to show your ankle and a little bit of calf. By revealing the smallest part of your leg next to the biggest part of the pant it creates a slimming contrast.
- Accentuate your waist line by tucking in a fitted shirt. Hiding your hips and waist under something slouchy will only shortent the line of your leg and create bulk around your middle
And although I'm wearing them with a heeled boot today, I find they look greate with pumpd, sandals, and even flats. Man, do I love a multitasker!
