A pretty common question I'm asked about my blog is: 'DO YOU ACTUALLY WEAR THAT STUFF IN REAL LIFE?' What works for a photo may be interpreted slightly different for the grocery store, but the truth is I absolutely wear it all.
But that question got me thinking. There is a large part of my personal style that doesn't make it to these pages. I tend to omit the 'day to day' stuff, the staples I reach for when I'm rushing around on someone else's time, you know; THE UNIFORM. And it looks a lot like what I'm wearing here: a loose button down, simple jeans, a leg lengthening flat, and my favorite jean jacket.
I freelance as a photo editor and retoucher for a variety of companies in my area (many of which have mostly male and super casual populations), and although I usually work from home, when I do go in to an office, I tend to lean toward pieces like these as my UNIFORM. I feel most comfortable in those environments when my clothing is understated, streamlined, and made for movement. Everyday can't be high heels and high fashion; sometimes the other parts of me need to shine and this 'uniform' helps me to let that happen.
