Maxi-Shorts

I'm at an age when my shorts and skirts look and feel better when they're a little longer. Gone are the days of strutting around in short-shorts and mini-skirts (without opaque black tights, that is). But that's ok!.. because it opens the door for a little style evolution.

What I'm wearing today is a pair of immensely oversized linen shorts. I took a chance on these baggy culotte-y things while thrift store shopping last week.  I fell in love with them because although the silhouette is accessible and clean, the concept of these enormous shorts as 'fashion' is a bit left of center - and I love things a bit left of center. Why aren't I calling them 'culottes'? Because unlike a culotte, they aren't meant to resemble a skirt. They're meant to appear as giant shorts - maxi-shorts!
