Little Black Day Dress

Although little black dresses are usually reserved for drinks and parties and dates with destiny, I love wearing one on a Tuesday as a little style pick-me-up. Daytime LBD dressing is about tastefulness and restraint. I LOVE sexy clothing, but save them for night time. I find a very effective trick for elegantly wearing an LBD in broad daylight is to bring a little casualness to it - especially during summer months!

I had been obsessing over this Broderie wiggle dress from Asos for weeks because it has greats contrasts of sexy and demure. The dress is quite fitted, but knee length and cotton. The sheer panels are Broderie, instead of lace or mesh. The buttoned-down shirt-dress styling at the front always plays really well during the day as do the short sleeves and a subtle eyelet pattern. So, I bought it! I found that pairing it with casually high-heeled sandals, a cottony scarf (with the same broderie pattern as the dress), and a denim clutch further increased the 'daytime' feel of this LBD. I have to say, I felt really pulled togather in this outfit, but never overly dressed or 'too much'.
