My fondness for the Fourth of July is profound. I can't ponder the holiday without choking up and devolving into a teary mess. (It's happening right now...) Maybe memories of my happy childhood arouse the emotions. Maybe it's my unabiding pride in being American that swells the awe and gratefullness for my right to LIFE, LIBERTY, and THE PURSUIT OF HAPINESS. Or maybe I just really love summertime and the Fourth is my favorite symbol of the glorious season. What ever the reason for my fondness, God bless America!
But about the outfit! Is there a more American brand than Levi Strauss and Company??? Started by a San Francisco based Bavarian immigrant in the 1850s, the brand is an enduring symbol of the workers and artists that helped to define American history and culture. Featured today are my favorite pair of white Levi 501s; still their best seller! I busted the knees myself and cut away excess length to make them 100% original and 100% my own. What could be more American than that?! A white linen tank from J Crew, worn-in mules, a big tote for all my stuff, and of course, a red, white, and blue striped scarf. Comfy, casual and totally on point for the festivities. Happy Fourth of July, friends!
