A Classic Red Dress
In addition to hunting for the perfect BBQ'd burnt ends and learning the secrets for a good hair day in 90% humidity, the process of becoming at home in my new home has been made even more enjoyable by getting to know the local thrift stores - and are there ever some good ones. One in particular is the Savers just a few miles down the road. It's proving to be a reliable standby for high-end quality items. I consistently find clothing that have been donated, not because it's worn out or faulty, but because the previous owner has cleaned out her cedar-lined closet to make room for this seasons' new fashions. One man's trash is another man's Neiman Marcus branded treasure, right?
And it's not just their good stuff I go in for - they also have great staff. Although I've shopped at Savers off and on my entire life, I never knew they had a 'club card' until I visited the one in my neighborhood. As a member I have access to weekly discounts and access to big sales a day before the rest of the public. My favorite weekly discount is on Tuesday - 25% off everything! Most thrift stores discount only things that have been in the store a week or more - but Savers' Tuesday discount applies to everything - even things that hit the floor that day!
Last Tuesday I found this gorgeous Neiman Marcus red linen dress. It was priced at $9.99 but with the club card discount I got it for $7.49. Do yourself a favor and SIGN UP today!
